Build your breakfast around nourishment, not convenience.
For years, I thought breakfast was just… breakfast.
A piece of toast.
A bowl of cereal.
Maybe a g/f bagel.
Sometimes nothing at all.
Other times, just coffee.
I had no idea that how I started my day could influence my energy, cravings, mood, and even how satisfied I felt for the rest of the day.
These days, my breakfast looks very different.
- Around 30–35 grams of protein.
- Healthy fats.
- Fiber first whenever I can.
No, it’s not about being perfect.
It’s about giving my body the building blocks it actually needs.
One thing I’ve learned is that protein isn’t just for people trying to build muscle.
Protein helps support:
– Feeling full longer
– Healthy muscles as we age
– Hormone production
– A healthy metabolism
– Energy
– Hair, skin, and nails
And fiber?
I used to think fiber was only about digestion.
Now I know it’s so much more than that.
One of my favorite breakfasts lately is simple:
- Eggs
- Cottage cheese
- Fiber before I eat
- A drizzle of olive oil
Simple. Delicious. And I honestly feel the difference.
Small changes really do add up.
Have you ever paid attention to how your breakfast makes you feel an hour or two later? I’d love to hear what your favorite breakfast is!
