6-Why Fiber Comes First

You’re feeding your gut as much as you’re feeding yourself.

If you had asked me a year ago why we need fiber…

I probably would have said, “So we stay regular.” 🤷‍♀️

That’s what most of us were taught.

But wow…was I missing a huge part of the picture.

I’m learning that fiber is about so much more than digestion.

Fiber helps:

  • Slow down how quickly food is absorbed.
  • Helps you stay satisfied longer.
  • Feeds the good bacteria living in your gut.
  • Supports healthy cholesterol levels.
  • Helps support healthy blood sugar.
  • Supports hormone health.
  • Helps keep things moving the way they were designed to.

Think of it this way…

You’re feeding the trillions of bacteria living inside your gut.

When we nourish the good bacteria, they help take care of us in return.

One thing I’ve started doing is eating my fiber before the rest of my meal whenever I can. That’s how I grew up but somehow along the way I forgot about it. I mean 50 years is a long time, lol.

It’s such a simple habit, but it’s become one of my favorite little “health hacks.”

I’m not looking for perfection.

I’m just trying to give my body a little more of what it was designed to thrive on.

Every small step counts.
